Heal your relationship

The Four-Part Couples Assessment

Four sessions that start with the relationship, listen to each of you alone, and end with a path forward you can actually follow.

Before you decide whether it is you, them, or the pattern

Most couples arrive with a theory. It is the way they talk to each other, or the way one of them shuts down, or the thing that happened two years ago. Each theory is partly right, and none of them tells you where to begin.

Charli's couples therapy is grounded in a systems approach, viewing the relationship itself as the client. That changes what an assessment is for. It is not a verdict on either of you. It is a way of seeing how the two of you fit together, including the parts neither of you can see from inside.

Sessions one, two and three

The first session is the two of you together. The aim is to understand the relationship: what brought you in, what each of you hopes for, and how the pattern shows up when you are both in the room.

Sessions two and three are individual. Partner one meets with Charli alone, and then partner two does the same. It is a space to say what is hard to say with the other person listening, and to be heard without having to win.

These sessions run with Charli Wright, MA, LMFT, virtually if you live in North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. In North Carolina she can also come to your home as the practice's Travel Therapist.

Session four: the path forward

The fourth session brings you back together. Charli shares what she has seen across the first three, and the two of you talk about the path forward: your treatment goals, and whether this way of working is a good fit for what you want.

That last part matters. The assessment is a way to decide, with real information, whether to keep going, how to go on, or what else would serve you better. You leave with a plan rather than a vague sense that it went fine.

If you have questions before you book, call (267) 536-2554. The practice also offers a free 15-minute consultation.

Couples sessions with Charli Wright, MA, LMFT are $200 for 75 minutes.
